Rachel Paxton is a former high-school English teacher and musical choreographer… and a lifelong diy-er and designer. She was first inspired to pick up a camera when she moved to Paris and her first child was born all within a three month span. Fast forward seven years, and her designs and photography have been published in Country Living Magazine, Romantic Homes, Rachael Ray, Bon Appetit, Country Sampler, and more. Now a mother of four, she combines her love of writing, renovating, and decorating as she documents the pursuit of peace in her home on her blog Maison de Pax. Armed with coffee, imagination, a paint brush, and a willingness to try and fail from time to time, Rachel has had the pleasure of completing a full renovation of a 75-year-old colonial home and is now working alongside her husband and children to bring a 1990’s home in the Texas hill country into the present.
